Good news this week. UK MOD has signed a contract for three logistic ships for the Royal Navy (RFA manned).The contract has been awarded to Team Resolute (made up of three companies Harland and Wolf, BMT and Navantia UK - a British subsidiary of the Spanish company Navantia). The programme is valued at £1.6 billion and the construction of the blocks that will make up the ships will be carried out at H&W Belfast, Appledore and Puerto Real (Cadiz). In other, related, news. The first of two Multi Role Ocean Surveillance (MROS) ships have arrived in Birkenhead. It is understood these vessels may be RFA manned.
