Good news this week. UK MOD has signed a contract for three logistic ships for the Royal Navy (RFA manned). The contract has been awarded to Team Resolute (made up of three companies Harland and Wolf, BMT and Navantia UK - a British subsidiary of the Spanish company Navantia). Note: This FSS programme was nearing contract award in 2003 - that's a lot of thinking time! In other, related, news. The first of two Multi Role Ocean Surveillance (MROS) ships have arrived in Birkenhead. It is understood these vessels may be RFA manned. |
