The society held it last match of the 2019 season at Staddon Heights GC near Plymouth on Tuesday the 22nd October which turned out to be a fine day for playing golf. They had previously played at Tavistock in April on a dry but cold day and then at the China Fleet course in Saltash in August. The end of September saw them playing at Stover, one of Peter Farmer’s two courses, and it was then decided to play at Staddon as the earlier fixture had been cancelled due to the weather. The winner on the day at Staddon was Tony Pitt with 32 points and Bob Burt came second with 31, each getting a bottle of wine. Bob Evens went away with two bottles of wine for nearest the pin on the 4th and 15thholes.
The scores had been diligently kept by the Secretary Richard Walker, one of his many RFAA jobs, and three of the four scores were counted to find a winner for the season.
The winner of the trophy was Bob Evans with a score of 99 points. The second place went to Bob Burt with a score of 96 points, third was Peter Farmer with 90 points followed by Tony Pitt with 89 points.
We are already organizing the programme from 2020 and as there are only 7 of us we would be happy if more RFAA golfers or anyone connected with the RFA joined us. Contact Richard Walker email: [email protected]
